Step 1: Locate the programming buttons and display on the front of the timer. The buttons include "Hour," "Minute," "Program," and "Random." The display shows the current time, the programmed on and off times, and the current mode.

Step 2: Press the "Program" button. The display will show "1 ON." This indicates that you are programming the first on time.
