How To Install Feit Outdoor Lantern

Installing a Feit outdoor lantern is a straightforward project that can be completed in a few hours. By following these easy steps, you can add beautiful and functional lighting to your outdoor space. Let's get started!

Materials Required:

Feit outdoor lantern
Electrical wire (14-gauge or thicker)
Electrical tape
Screwdriver
Drill
Drill bit
(Optional) Mounting bracket

Step 1: Prepare the Electrical Wire

Cut the electrical wire to the desired length. Strip about 1/2 inch of insulation off the ends of the wire. Twist the exposed wires together clockwise, forming a hook at the end of each wire.

Step 2: Mount the Lantern

If using a mounting bracket, attach it to the wall or ceiling where you want to install the lantern. The bracket should have holes that align with the holes on the back of the lantern. Insert the screws and tighten them securely.

If not using a mounting bracket, drill two pilot holes into the wall or ceiling. Insert the screws provided with the lantern and tighten them partially.

Step 3: Connect the Electrical Wires

Hook the exposed wires from the electrical wire onto the terminals on the back of the lantern. The black wire goes to the terminal marked "L" (live), and the white wire goes to the terminal marked "N" (neutral). Twist the wires clockwise to secure them.

Step 4: Secure the Lantern

If using a mounting bracket, lift the lantern onto the bracket and align the holes. Insert the screws and tighten them securely. If not using a bracket, insert the screws completely into the lantern.

Step 5: Insulate the Connections

Wrap electrical tape around the exposed electrical connections. This will prevent any moisture or dirt from getting into the connections and causing damage.

Step 6: Test the Lantern

Turn on the power and test the lantern. If the light turns on, the installation is complete. If the light does not turn on, check the electrical connections and make sure they are tight.
