How To Build Your Own Outdoor Propane Fire Pit

An outdoor propane fire pit is a great way to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. It can provide warmth and ambiance on a cool evening, and it can be used for cooking or roasting marshmallows. Building your own propane fire pit is a relatively easy project that can be completed in a few hours.

Here are the materials you will need:

  • 18-inch diameter fire ring
  • 12-inch diameter fire bowl
  • 24-inch length of 1/2-inch black iron pipe
  • 24-inch length of 3/4-inch black iron pipe
  • Propane tank
  • Propane regulator
  • Propane hose
  • Lava rocks

Here are the steps on how to build your own outdoor propane fire pit:

  1. Dig a hole for the fire pit. The hole should be about 18 inches deep and 24 inches in diameter. The hole should be located in a well-ventilated area.
  2. Place the fire ring in the hole. The fire ring should be level and centered in the hole.
  3. Place the fire bowl on top of the fire ring. The fire bowl should be centered on the fire ring.
  4. Connect the 1/2-inch black iron pipe to the propane tank. The 1/2-inch black iron pipe should be about 24 inches long. The propane tank should be turned off.
  5. Connect the 3/4-inch black iron pipe to the propane regulator. The 3/4-inch black iron pipe should be about 24 inches long. The propane regulator should be connected to the propane tank.
  6. Connect the propane hose to the propane regulator. The propane hose should be about 6 feet long. The propane hose should be clamped to the propane regulator and the 3/4-inch black iron pipe.
  7. Turn on the propane tank. The propane tank should be turned on slowly to avoid a flare-up.
  8. Light the fire pit. The fire pit can be lit with a match or a lighter.
  9. Add lava rocks to the fire pit. The lava rocks will help to distribute the heat and protect the fire pit from the elements.

Your outdoor propane fire pit is now complete. Enjoy it with friends and family!

Here are some safety tips for using your outdoor propane fire pit:

  • Never leave the fire pit unattended.
  • Keep children and pets away from the fire pit.
