Safety Information
Before you begin the installation process, please take note of the following important safety information:
- Turn off the power to the circuit at the breaker panel before starting installation.
- Wear safety glasses and gloves when working with electrical wires.
- Do not install the light if it is damaged in any way.
- Keep the light out of reach of children.
- Do not attempt to repair the light yourself; if it malfunctions, contact a qualified electrician.
Installation Instructions
To install the Defiant 180 Degree Outdoor White Motion Sensing Security Light, follow these steps:
1.Determine the location of the light.
The light should be installed at a height of 6-8 feet from the ground and in a location where it will have a clear view of the area you want to illuminate. 2.Mount the mounting bracket.
Use the provided screws to mount the mounting bracket to the wall. 3.Wire the light.
Connect the black wire from the light to the black wire from the power supply. Connect the white wire from the light to the white wire from the power supply. Connect the green wire from the light to the ground wire from the power supply. 4.Secure the light to the mounting bracket.
Slide the light onto the mounting bracket and secure it with the provided screws. 5.Adjust the motion sensor.
The motion sensor can be adjusted to detect motion at a distance of up to 70 feet. To adjust the sensitivity, use a screwdriver to turn the dial on the back of the light. 6.Set the timer.
The timer can be set to keep the light on for 1, 5, or 10 minutes after motion is detected. To adjust the timer, use a screwdriver to turn the dial on the back of the light. 7.Turn on the power.
Turn on the power to the circuit at the breaker panel. The light will turn on automatically when motion is detected.Troubleshooting Tips
