Build Your Own Outdoor Gas Fire Pit Table
With the arrival of warm weather, many of us start thinking about spending more time outdoors. If you're looking for a way to create a cozy and inviting gathering spot in your backyard, then a gas fire pit table is a great option.
Fire pit tables are a great way to enjoy a warm fire without the hassle of building a traditional campfire. Plus, they can be used for cooking, making them a versatile addition to any backyard.
If you're handy and have some basic construction skills, building your own gas fire pit table is a great weekend project. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get started:
Materials You'll Need
- Concrete blocks or pavers
- Gravel or sand
- Fire pit ring
- Lava rocks or fire glass
- Gas line and fittings
- Table top
- Tools: shovel, level, tape measure, drill, etc.
Step 1: Choose a Location
The first step is to choose a location for your fire pit table. It should be a level spot away from any trees or other flammable materials. Once you've chosen a location, clear the area of any debris.
Step 2: Build the Base
The base of your fire pit table will provide support for the fire pit ring and tabletop. You can use concrete blocks or pavers to build the base. To build the base, start by laying down a layer of gravel or sand. Then, arrange the concrete blocks or pavers on top of the gravel or sand. Make sure to level the base as you go.
Step 3: Install the Fire Pit Ring
Once the base is complete, it's time to install the fire pit ring. The fire pit ring will hold the fire pit burner and lava rocks or fire glass. To install the fire pit ring, simply place it on top of the base and secure it in place.
Step 4: Install the Gas Line
The next step is to install the gas line. The gas line will supply gas to the fire pit burner. To install the gas line, connect the gas line to the fire pit burner. Then, run the gas line to a nearby gas source, such as a propane tank or natural gas line.
Step 5: Add Lava Rocks or Fire Glass
Once the gas line is installed, it's time to add lava rocks or fire glass to the fire pit ring. Lava rocks are a popular choice because they're durable and heat-resistant. Fire glass is another option that's available in a variety of colors. To add lava rocks or fire glass, simply pour the lava rocks or fire glass into the fire pit ring until it's about two-thirds full.
Step 6: Install the Tabletop
The final step is to install the tabletop. The tabletop will provide a surface for you to place drinks, food, or other items. To install the tabletop, simply place the tabletop on top of the fire pit ring. Make sure to center the tabletop and secure it in place.
Enjoy Your New Fire Pit Table!
Once the tabletop is installed, your fire pit table is complete! Now you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the warmth and ambiance of your new fire pit table.
